Kindred Chocolates runs out of a farmhouse built in 1900. My great, great, great grandmother originally lived just outside the kitchen window in the 1800s, in a very small cabin. Harriet (pictured outside cabin) raised her family in that cabin, & worked the farm with her husband. When her son was ready to take over the family farm, he built this beautiful Victorian farmhouse. My mother and father purchased the farm in 2006 as a hobby property with a large garden, and the potential for horses (my father's dream!) They had no intentions of living in the farmhouse, so one day in 2019 I decided to ask if I could put some love into it. Dad and I began & completed renovations, and now Kindred Chocolates has a home!
During the renovation, I cleaned and peeled 24 layers of wallpaper, about 6 layers in each of the 4 rooms. In total, there were 16 different patterns that I naturally fell in love with (I love a good floral print!) The packaging for all of Kindred Chocolates will aim to restore & re-use vintage wallpaper, fabrics and designs from history!
